If your time frame is more than 6 months, best way forward is Complaints procedure; Set out your complaint clearly and briefly, including dates and any reference numbers where possible, then email or send it to:

Email: complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Address:
Complaints Allocation Hub
Central Point of Receipt
11th Floor
Lunar House
40 Wellesley Road
Croydon

Eligibility Criteria: Spouse Visa +1yr ILR
Application mode:
Application: 1 Adult
Date of Submission: 30 March 2014
Date Received at UKBA: 2 April 2014
Acknowledgement letter received :
Date Payment taken: 5 April
Date Approval Received: waiting
Date of Ceremony: waiting

Today marks my 6 months wait. I asked my MP to chase up what should have been a straight forward application. This is the response she got:

I have contacted the Home Office on your behalf to obtain an update on your application.

The Home Office have told me that your application is currently undergoing its full investigative checks – this stage is carried out by a body outside of the Home Office so is therefore outside of the Home Office time checks. When I asked for a time scale, the adviser I spoke to indicated that as the application is being actively worked on at the moment they would estimate that it will take about 4-6 weeks, and that at that stage you will be contacted.
I hope that this is helpful. Please do keep me updated and let me know if you hear anything. If the application has still not been determined in 4-6 weeks I can make further enquiries on your behalf.

There's no such a thing as 3rd party and it's completely nonsense which customer service use as excuse when u call them, but if u ask Homeoffice about this 3rd party game, they deny it and they say there's no such a thing, pls open the link I leave here, this is the answer to someone like us who demand the answer under freedom of information which Homeoffice (UKVI or ukba) carefully answered:

Hi everyone.

Just to give you an update. My application has been over 7 months now. During the last month I have called three times a week, and a few weeks ago I wrote a letter to the Home Office. It was detailed and exhaustive of all their shortcomings. Unfortunately I have not received any response nor has my letter been acknowledged. When I spoke to UKVI advisor last week she told me "maybe they aren't responding because they are nearly finished their checks so aren't bothering". Well, that's not good enough!!

Anyway, I called on Monday and was told that my extra checks were cleared on Sunday (2nd November) and to wait for the letter, but he didn't know how long the letter takes to be processed once the checks are completed.

Does anyone know how long the letter takes once the checks have been cleared?

Once I receive my letter and all this is done and dusted I will be writing another complaint and asking for a full explanation since they provided nothing during these seven months and not bothering to respond to my letter is not acceptable as far as I'm concerned, especially because they have taken so long when I feel my application was very straightforward. In all honesty I think they just set it aside and waited for me to complain before doing anything about it!

So for anyone still waiting, write a formal letter of complaint with every detail and they will eventually respond somehow!

Will let you know when my decision letter arrives.

Hello Guys

Al-hamdulillah
after a long 8 months wait we have finally
got our approval letters

I wish and pray all the people who are waiting out there would get this glad tiding soon

Advice: Please contact your MP as soon as 6 months
finish. Me n my husband applied in March this year ( it was a joint application) after 6 months we wrote to our MP n got a std reply from HO ( doing some enquiries through third party n waiting for thier response - was a bit disappointed but now admit MP help really works ) and after one month we got approvals

Please keep trust God n don't worry n be positive
I know waiting is very painful but please keep trust on Allah jee

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

One more there isn't any point to keep calling HO as it simply give you tension when u been told it's still under consideration

Hi Faani,
Jzk for your kind words! Unfortunately I have not heard from them still and I wrote a letter to them in the last week of December, how long do they take to write back to you? I really can't think of what to do next.

Is anyone else still waiting for the approval letter?

The Home Office's response is as follows:

Thank you for your email correspondence of 26 January on behalf of Mr xxxxxxx of xxxxxX, about his application for naturalisation as a British Citizen.

Mr xxxxxxx naturalisation application ofJune 2014 remains under consideration by our caseworking team.

The Independent Chief Inspector’s report of 11 December 2014 highlighted that some individuals had not been subject to sufficient scrutiny in relation to their immigration history. We have now revised our guidance and are looking at those cases in detail to assess the impact these changes will have on the outcome of the application for British Citizenship. Due to the additional checks required these cases will take a little longer to consider. We apologise for the delay Mr xxxxxx has experienced in receiving his decision.

I am start worrying :( applied in October 2014 and after 6 months and 2 weeks haven't heard any from UKVI, requested phone call after 10 times calling them, been told my application is still under consideration it may takes longer...(even thought this is second times applying ,once been refused due to has a 3 points on my license from court , I thought this time wont take longer than)

the problem with UkVI is not given right answers ,they just say wait and wait... how long applicants has to wait???
if you call during six months they say call bk after six months, then telling some application will tale longer ..

so thinking to meet my local MP regarding my application. do you think is gd idea or leave it how it goes??

well done for those got approval letter :)

Involvement MP is a just a wast of time. Secondly I was already mentioned in my previous post we are the third category human in this country. Just because we are migrants or refugee's. I was waiting since last year February 2014 now running in 15 month. And still waiting for decision. Let's see the Next Government what they can do for us.
