If you are not the person then you just need to prove it. I am sure you should be fine.

Hi guys,
Alhamdullah!. Finally my turn has come... Got my approval letter along with my wife's and daughter's. But to be honest, the excitement has worn out due to the stress and anxiety over the past few months.

I was very worried that my case was delayed due to self-employment status... Then I thought it could be due to meeting a person in the detention centre 5 yrs back... Then what not... everything seems to be swirling in your mind.. The past few months has been very stressful and Alhamdullah it worked out fine in the end.

Although the approval letter asked me to call the council, the council has advised me to wait for the ceremony invite letter. In sha Allah, I hope to get it soon.

I pray that the others waiting would get their approval letters soon... I know it is difficult but we have to go through this.

Thanks for all the boarders for your support.

Thanks Rana and wparacha.

One thing I missed mentioning is that I email my MP last week with my case details. Not sure if this made any difference as the approval letter is dated 29/Sept.

Hi everyone,

So I have my approval last week and today received my ceremony details.

Applied: 27th March 2015 NCS Newbury
Fees taken: 16th March 2015
Date of approval: 28th September 2015
Date of ceremony: 17th November 2015

I'll try to do ceremony earlier. And because of new rules I need to change my surname in my old passport before I apply for my British passport.. Good luck to everyone who still waiting

. Right so I've applied for my citizenship at the end of March. Now I've received a letter saying that I need to prove I've exercised the eea treaty rights while I was a student. So I was a student between 2007-2014. During 2007-2009 I was financially dependent of my ex husband then fiancé who is a British citizen. I am Romanian. He was claiming incapacity benefit due to long term illness. The home office wants me to prove I was able to support myself during that time. I haven't applied myself for any benefits but but my ex did and I have benefited of them. In 2009 I've taken a student professional loan to be able to sustain myself and ex husband has also continued paying for certain things.how do I explain this to home office? I have until the 19th of October... Thanks.

Good luck to everyone else waiting :D
It seems that after you are approved everything moves at a relatively fast pace.
I got my invitation letter today, dated 29/09. I called them and arranged the ceremony for 19/10. Finally, after all this wait (~190 days). I hope that everyone from March will get their approval letters soon!

My final timeline:

Eligibility criteria: 6 years EEA exercising treaty rights
Language criteria met : UK degrees + LIUK
Method of application: NCS Camden
Date of application: 31/03/2015
Payment method CC/DC, Personal cheque, Bankers cheque etc: CC
Date of receipt by UKBA: - 01/04/2015
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 17/04/2015
Date of acknowledgement letter: 20/04/2015 (dated 17/04/2015)
Date of approval letter: 01/10/2015 (dated 28/09/2015)
Date of invitation letter: 09/10/2015 (dated 29/09/2015)
Date of ceremony: 19/10/15

P.S. With the approval letter came a badly photocopied, corners missing, skewed with horrible black spots "Tell us what you think of the overall experience" survey. I found that amusing...and fitting.

Please complete the survey. Please tell them what you feel about their service. Exactly what you feel.

:D Haha just completed it, it is surreal. Most of the questions are phrased to shift any blame, e.g. "Tell us what you would do to improve your application process...", instead of "what WE should do". The rest are multiple choice questions like, "Did you actually understand how long you would have to wait?" (Yes,No,I don't know), and "put in order what is important for you when applying" (with THEIR choices of what would be important).. and of course questions like where are you from, was your application successful, when you filled in the application was it difficult, did you ask for help and were we polite...
I don't think anyone here has a problem with the people you can speak to or meet.. it's the mysterious policies and criteria, the clearly random order of processing, and all the things you can easily see reading this forum. That survey conveniently avoids all that.

The best question was "Do you think the price you paid reflects the service you received?". Hah. :P
