He just got a printed receipt but nothing else. So it means I need to call the council. Starts really well :-/

I would say look through the paper work before you ring NCS. If you dont find anything, give NCS a bell and see if they can give that to you over the phone. Your OH may need to do this as it is his application.

I know it is with them now just wanted to make sure

I did this in October and had approval in 5 weeks so I am experienced

we were being told its sent by recorded delivery . so my question to those who used NCS so did they tell you guys that its recorded delivery by royal mail ? or some other one .

I noticed the conversation above regarding tracking information. I was given a receipt with Royal Mail's tracking info stuck on. It was peeled off the grey bag that I assume my form will be sent in.

Yes the same i got stated Nationality checking service receipt and they wrote by hand the 13 digit tracking number with some alphabets in it.

yes exactly two alphabets at start and GB at end.
