Don't worry Tulip. I think this forum is making people nervous. This is not a race :!: HO says clearly that process can take 3 to 6 months and sometimes even longer...

In the past biometrics were not used as a means to verify/confirm the identity of those applying for naturalisation. From now onwards they will be. I understand this to be a additional step to strengthen identity verification. Just to clarify, for them to actually use biometrics for this, they will take the new biometrics provided as part of the AN application & compare it against what they already hold (BRP). So it's not a case of using old biometrics, as mentioned above.

Couldn't put it any better myself. People are getting upset as they see others getting their approvals quickly. But at the end of the day it will take however long UKVI decide it's going to take them. So @tulip don't think yourself any less and just try your best to relax. At least that way when it's all approved and you get your confirmation it will be a nice suprise.

I received my certificate on 10/03/2015, now husband applies. Went to NCS service in Aberdeen today. They did not take any application fee and told Home office will contact him directly to collect the fee. Is that new practice? We provided a page with card details from previous fee booklet, but advisor told he don't need it. Anybody in the same situation? New regulations?

Regards,
Kristina

They should have taken the payment slip with payment details and send that off to UKBA. They don't actually process the payment there (as far as I'm aware).

No, the approval letter says it could take 2 weeks; if nothing is received by then, I will contact them.

Ok, my approval letter says "..please contact local authority within 21 days..". I know different local authorities operate differently but be mindful of the 21 days. It won't hurt to give them a call, if only to put your mind at ease. You have nothing to lose really. Good luck anyway.

Hi T51820,

Ok, very interesting, mine says to contact UKVI on an email address if i have not received the letter within 2 weeks.

You are right, nothing to lose, I will give them a shout and see what they say and will let you know.
