Hi pmnagendra123

Thank you for your reply. The above is true if i get the certificates in time and process the application for the British Passports. But in a situation where i don't get certificates in time and as you mentioned they will be considered the Nationals of the country the hold passport for. My kids don't qualify for ILR as they are eligible to register as British citizens. I have discussed with HO and they said in this situation i will need to speak to the immigration officer at the port of arrival and its up to them to allow the Kids in. But the question remains as to how they board the plan from the country of departure as i don't believe they will be allowed to board in the absence of a valid visa/British passport.

yes, Kids wont be allowed to board the aircraft without a valid visa or UK passport when travelling to the UK.
Only other option would be to wait for the certificates to come in.

Please check on applying for a temporary visa which will allow them to travel. In such situations you will have the option to apply for a 6 Months travel visa.

It is better to check with the British High Commision in your home country explaining your situation. There is a visa category ( I am not sure what it is called) which will allow Visa holders to travel to the UK incase they loose their Biometric Residence Permit while traveling. So this should apply to your kids as well.

IMO , apply for the ILR for the kids . As i understand during your ILR SET 0 application you have said / in your plans .. I will register my children as British citizen after my successful ILR. It will cost you fortune but will give you " solution " towards your problem. They can apply for ILR ( my opinion seniors can discuss)
Thanks

The lady at NCS said that due to intriduction of biometrics for citizenship applications from 6th April, 2015 there is currently a backlog and the Home Office (Liverpool) may take 1 month + to respond with acknowledgement...

Planning to call the home office today, its nearly 2 weeks since they have deducted the fees and I am yet to receive the acknowledgement & biometric letters!
Just got off the phone with Home Office: 03001232253, the guy on the other end was quite helpful, took my name and mobile number and on hearing the date the fees were deducted, said it was quite strange that I have not received the acknowldgement yet, said the biometric letter might take some time to come. He said someone will call me back within 24 - 72 hours, lets see what happens....

Did u receive any call from them yet?

Hi Gurus
I have been a regular follower of this group for the past 3 months.

I have applied for my son on 1st April 2015 and have not got a certificate until now. As you know there is no traction on MN1 certificates being issued. Home office clearly has the clause of case getting delayed 'upto' 6 months.

Could the gurus of this forum comment on what options are available to us. Atleast if there is some traction on the MN1 issuance it will be convincing. MN1 are for children who are very young and the cases are quite straighforward when compared to other cases. Quite frustrating to understand the rationale behind 6 months and this delay.

On a side note, I applied for a similar certificate in Indian embassy last year and they charged 18£ and 1.5 week to process !!! Indian system has certainly improved compared to English home office decisions.

Please refrain from any comments in this thread, its only for MN1 timeline. You can start new thread if you have queries on the subject.

I received an email update from the UKVI, and my daughter's application was definitely received and is processing. Now that I know the documents got to the correct place, the actual waiting game can begin.

I have been emailing back and forth with them to find out whether they'd received the package and they confirmed they did receive it. That's all I know.

Hi I did try to get referee to sign to mm1 form but health visitor refused to sign it. My daughter is 18 months old. On the form saying referee should be teacher , health visitor or social worker however we don't know any one apart from health visitor so could you help me who can be referee for my daughter. Many thanks

Hi,

You need a professional which could be any one does not matter if you cant get sign from health visitor or teacher or doctor. You Can get sign from Accountant or Manager or any professional and one ordinary person with British passport holder who know for last 5 years.

One should be British
One should be Professional.

THanks
