1) The NCS send out both AN & Passport applications (packaged separately with independent tracking references) to the HO at the same time. My understanding is that there is a separate internal team that deals with naturalisation applications and HMPO who deal with the passport application - both now under the HO. The passport application is kept on hold until the council inform them that the applicant has attended their ceremony.
2) Based on latest posts it appears there is a delay in this information being shared after the ceremony so hence slightly longer time required for the applicant to receive the passport in the post. Additionally I suspect that now there may be delays due to the summer peak period.
3) No, there is no passport interview if you applied through JCAP.
4) You should have a tracking number that was given to you by your JCAP participating NCS. That's what I quoted, when I rang them about a week after attending my ceremony earlier this year.

Thx mate. Also one last question - When do they deduct the passport application fee?

It's normally deducted around the same time as the AN fee is taken. Mine was deducted about a week after the AN fee.

I have rang passport office and ask them to kindly request from the relevant department responsible for updating ceremony attedance. All they keep saying is we need confirmation from the UKVI that you have attended ceremony. I have explained to them that work commitments mean i need to travel and also ,one cannot be kept without any timescales. So the lady said she would leave a message for the examiner. Hopefully, he can pick up his phone and make a phone call as I am sure they have internal means of getting updates if they actually wanted to as opposed to just sit and wait.

I will update if anything changes

NAP wrote:This was posted earlier and I am not able to quote because the post is too old but it is potentially really useful information. I am in this situation and have been advised by UKVI that they are getting lots of calls about it. I have a JCAP application in progress and have been waiting 5 weeks for passport after naturalisation ceremony. Passport office insists that they have not been informed that ceremony was attended. The timelines mentioned below (assuming bad luck in the timing of my ceremony being at the start of cycle) might explain the delay.

Quoted text below:

I , Today enquired the passport office about my passport application and got updated that " We are waiting for information from HO about your approval " , and further I learnt that the HO sends communication to HMPO every 20 days and the current cycle started 11 days ago .

This allows me to make an educated guess that , people who applied using JCAPS will receive their passports after 20 days from the day they attended their ceremony .

I attended my ceremony on 23rd of march , hence I may receive my passport around 20th of April .

I think this post will provide some timeline for people who are applying using the JCAPS .

I am going to apply for naturalisation and passport next week. Will appreciate your help on the following:

1. I am using NCS. What should I write about submission of the original BRP

2. I travel frequently and have more than 100 trips in last 5 years. Can I use a supplementary sheet rather than the format in the form to calculate my outside UK days?

3. For the passport application, it asks how many uncancelled passports are being submitted. I obviously have 1 uncancelled non-UK passport but I was wondering if this needs to be submitted with NCS?

I have updated the spreadsheet with my details again. It's looking promising that April and May are beginning to be approved :D

Applied for Naturalisation and passport at the same time via Manchester NCS on 04/08/16.

Fairly boring application as I've been here since 2006 and went the Fiancee visa -> limited leave to remain -> ILR route and have had ILR for 6 years, married to a British citizen, etc. *crosses fingers*

Hi, just to want to cross check if any one can supply contact details to cross check my childs MN(1) application. As explained above I did applied it through NCS on 19/05 and the home office received it next day. I am not expecting this process to be fast tracked but I have not received acknowledgement till date and even the payment is not taken.

Cheers, AK

You pick it up at a Post Office. It is not a downloadable form.

You can't use JCAP's service by your own, You need to go via NCS only.

Quick question guys.

I am applying for naturalisation and passport together via ncs @manchester on Wednesday.

I am not sure which passport application do I need to use. I have applied for passport online and paid the fees is that OK. Or should I HV got the passport application form from post office and use it? Any one knowledgeable on the subject please reply.

You need to get passport form from Post office and take it along with you when going to NCS. Online application cannot be done for Joint Passport & Nationality application.

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me whats the benefit of Naturalisation and passport application together? I've just spoken to one of the borough of london and she said that i have to fill out passport application form as well. I am not qualified for passport application until my naturalisation is being accepted, isn't it? so i can't see any point of applying them together...Can anyone clear me about it please.

It is a scheme that HO has started quite a few months ago. If you applying using the joint scheme, you don't need to attend a passport interview and you also get your passport soon after your ceremony.

If naturalisation is refused, you obviously won't get the passport.

Yes, you have to complete the form. Leave that section blank.
