Emailed to HO on 18 Oct 2019 for an update, got reply on 21 Oct 2019 that “It would appear that a decision has now been made on your application, you should receive a decision letter in the next 5-7 days”. Email to Council on 22 Oct 2019 for confirmation of our names on ceremony list, got reply on 25 Oct 2019 that “I have just received (today) your certificates from The Home Office. I can confirm the attendance at the Ceremony on 30 Oct 2019”.

The hardest thing was waiting especially when the application 6 month target period lapsed. I called several times and there not much they could do. I applied for a SAR at the end of August, however this was processed after my application had been approved and only provided details of historical applications. The SAR may have helped, however there is no way of telling. It is interesting that shortly after the SAR I received my approval letter.

Surprisingly it only took 1 week from Bio enrolment to approval date, and I did receive council ceremony letter before HO confirmation.
