My application got to the homeoffice on 10 Oct 2013 and I still haven't received anything nor my account has been debited.
I posted my application on 18/09, payment hasn't been taken yet. I called Home office and they said due to rule change from 28/10 there is a big back log of applications
Just noticed payment deduction from the account today, seems like the staff is working weekends to clear the backlog. It's not very often you are glad that your account is debited.

Yes the guys @ HO work all weekends including Sundays and bank holidays. My payment was aken on Sunday and I can recall one occation in 2008 when I had a call from case worker on a Sunday, to clarify some information about my LL application.

Dear All, I am pleased to write that I finally received the approval letter today. Thanks to all the forum members for their useful input.

Just a sincere advice to everyone who are waiting, if you would like to find out the status of your application then the best option is to email home office NationalityProgress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk rather than calling the 0870 number. The reason is that the reply via email is received from Sheffield where your application is processed and they are in better position in giving you the status. Whereas 0870 number is for the Croydon office where you may not get status update as experienced by many.
Congrats Sheikh76, you are saying that email address worked for you? have you ever been told your application is in process and allocated to case worker? I applied on 5th October, you think it is too early to send an email?
Hi Sheikh76,
pls sorry to ask but where did u get the email address ? how soon do they reply the mails sent to them thanks

Eligibility criteria: 5 years WP + 1 year ILR
Method of application: self
Date of application: 21/10/2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 22/10/2013 (special delivery)
Date of acknowledgement : TBA
Date of debit of fees: TBA
Date of approval: TBA
Date of Ceremony:TBA

I did the application myself for my husband and I and our two children. The fees have not been taken out of my account even though it is now 2 weeks later. Should I be worried? Anyone else applied late October and had their fees taken? I only completed one payment slip, as they offer special rates for applying as a married couple and also for 2 children at the same time. Anyone else done this or should I have done a seperate one for each person in the family? ( I clearly marked on the form that this was for a family application with all our full names and DOB's.)
Also, I used the form dated December 2012.. I printed it off a few weeks before submitting it as had to get it to references etc. I only saw the form dated Sept'13 on the day I submitted our application so did not have time to print and complete new one. The only difference that I could see between the Dec '12 and Sep'13 form was a little block with advance notice on the Sep'13 form about the rules changing on the 28th of October re knowledge of life in the UK. Surely they can't reject my application based on this as my application was received before the 28th?
