It seems the Home Office deals with the applications at random.

Mine was submitted on 23 Sep through NCS and still no approval.

My ex-husband (we received the ILR together in 2006) sent his application himself just before 25 Oct got the approval letter today.

I am speechless!!!

Pqek is so far the only person who sent the application after 28 October and it has already been approved.
The rest are still waiting for accounts to be debited and it seems that the HO has stopped processing applications or even if it is, it is taking a long time.
I checked my bank account today and it has not been debited yet.
A friend of mine who sent the documents on 24 October has tried to send them additional information and a few days ago she received a letter, stating that a decision has been made. But the strange thing is that her account has not been debited.

I was starting think that an application through NCS or the solicitors was the best way to get a quick result. Seeing as you don't have to send all the documents (e.g. passport) with. But I guess not. It's just up to the universe!!!!

Haha, no, I think they will debit it eventually, but it's really strange she got such letter stating that a decision has been made. She still hasn't received an approval letter and the whole situation is intriguing.

Btw I was wondering whether it would be alright if I send HO an email asking them to confirm they've received my documents. And which email should I use?

application sent: 24/10/2013

no response from them so far
i sent them email yesterday and this is the copy of their response
can confirm you application was received on 25/10/13.

You should receive an acknowledgment letter between 4-6 weeks after we received your application. During busy periods this may even take 7 weeks. If you have not received such a letter, please contact us for a duplicate acknowledgment letter.

I have checked our records and can confirm that no decision has yet been made on your application.

We aim to process 95% of applications within 6 months however there are a small percentage of applications that take longer than this to be resolved.

All applications for citizenship are subject to enquiries to ensure that the statutory requirements have been satisfied. Because of these enquiries, we anticipate that applications may take up to six months to complete. Some applications may be dealt with more quickly and some may take longer, depending on the nature of the enquiries to be carried out. Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide applications for British citizenship. The standard is that we will decide 95% of applications within six months.

When the decision is made, or if we require further information from you, we will contact you in writing.
i think this is te standard response from them
so we need to keep waiting again after 8 weeks
hope will have the good news soon
