Hi, I applied 2 weeks after you (the 17th) and received the approval letter the same day as you, which means that they do not consider the date the application was submitted!!
Congratulations!! and good luck to All...

Final Update . By the grace of God I received approval letter on Saturday exactly after 4 months of my application. I had made my naturalisation application after 4 months earlier than my eligibility and asked for discretion. Best of Luck for the guys who are waiting.

Emailed home office last week about the status of my application what I made on 8th of July. Got a response today saying it's still ongoing. I don't think those people there don't have the access to the system. Thats why everyone get the same kind of reply. Anyway still hoping for a good news very very soon as I seen some people applied after me got their approval already.

Date of Ceremony: Booked for 22nd October

Hi All,

I applied on July 3 2014 from Camden council. Got my letter of approval today, dated 3rd October 2014.

I am am EU national living in the UK since Apr 2005. I did not apply for permanent residence, I went straight to citizenship. Contrary to some post here that suggest that you need to have PR before applying for citizenship is not true.

For the application at Camden Council, the lady just wanted my P60 for 6 years, company letter from latest employer. Bank and utility statements. Crucially also a letter from HMRC showing that you have paid tax for the last 6 years.

Thanks everyone here for the posts. Helped in getting an idea of how long the application would take.

They sent the approval letter only. I submitted photocopies documents only, as I went through NCS at Camden. I did not send any original documents, apart from my life in the UK certificate.

The letter says you have to contact your local authority within 21 days to arrange for the ceremony. I called up my Council as soon as I got the approval letter. The council told me that they have already sent me a letter giving me the choice of dates. A. You are supposed to contact the council then with your chosen date.

I think when the approval letter is sent,, the home office also inform the council about your approval.
I would advise you to call your councils.

Still waiting for approval!!!!!!!

Phoned HO twice, first time they said the application is under processing then the second time said the application is under reviewing!!!!

Is there any difference between the 2 answers?

In the 7th of September my application is completing 6 months!!!!![/quo
I applied the same day as you 7 April (ack letter 17 April). Haven't received a decision yet. Rang them a few times, every time I get a slightly different answer (you should be getting an answer soon, under review, a small percentage takes more than 6 months, no decision made, etc.). I wouldn't read too much into it.

I think we just have to wait!

Looking at the April 14 timeline sub forum it seems April people either got a very quick answer or are having to wait for quite a while.
Hi
What happened with you?
What action have you taken?

Thanks

Still no news on my application. Phoned the Home Office again and got the same response saying ‘still in process’. I was advised to wait as I have another month until it will be six months! I was also advised that I would not be told if the application was successful this will not be confirmed over the phone. Once it becomes the 6 month minimum period you need to contact the Home Office call centre and you will be given the contact details for your case worker.

Everyday seems to be an agonising wait! Is anyone else in a similar situation?

HI All,

Has any of you guys who have applied checked the credit history to see any random credit search is been done home office as part of the Naturalisation application. I am just thinking may be that could be one of the ways to see your application is progressing.

Thanks

I don't think HO checks credit report. I have alerts set up and haven't received any since I have applied. I applied 6 weeks ago but will keep an eye anyway.

I thought guidance said that they did do a credit check? Do we know all the different checks that they actually do?

They may as well have an automated system stating that your application is still being processed-please wait for 6 months.

Have made application on the 31st July - awaiting response - hopefully soon.

Does the package return sooner if you have sent across a pre-paid next day delivery postage envelope along with the application?

Not really we are there still waiting, I applied 27/05/14 and still no news yet. It seems to me no difference between UKBA and Homeoffice.

I am wondering when they cut ceremony fees? I sent 2 slips along with my application- 906GBP and another -80GBP (ceremony). Do they cut as soon approval letter issued and posted or after?

Many thanks

Hi guys,

I used to be on flr-m waiting forum in 2012 when there was a mad wait for post applications hence the username as waitwaitwait.

I didn't bother posting my application for ILR and did same day appointment on 26/09/2014. I was surprised that everything was done in less than 90 minutes from registration, biometrics to approval but it can take 6-12 months if you apply by post. Its a shame there is no such service for naturalisation and again back to usual wait as I have applied for Naturalisation.

Good luck to everyone and here is my timeline:

Eligibility criteria:Married to BC + ILR
(Living in UK for 8 years)
Language criteria met: B1-Trinity college +LIUK
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Hastings
Date of application: 10/10/2014
Payment method : Credit Card
Date of acknowledgment: Waiting
Date of debit or clearance of fees: waiting
Date approval received: Waiting
Date of ceremony:Waiting
