I've been using the case ref no to track application because when I used my biometric ID it said 'decided' but wasn't showing any dates. Case ID still says 'awaiting decision'(but also doesn't show date the update was made). Rand the HO about the refs and was told still awaiting because Biometric ref is showing results for ILR a year later (odd!).

Don't check the online application status with BRP as that will be taken as a reference against your ILR application, not the nationality. That's why you get decided with BRP no. and awaiting decision with the case reference no.

Furthermore, my Local Council have advised me on the phone to wait until I receive my invitation letter and then I should apply only for ceremony. And I am intending to apply for the passport on same date through post.

I was advised by Passport office customer service to submit the passport and the nationality certificate which has the correct name @liverpool passport office to rectify &re-issue the passport on the same day. Sumitted on 2nd December, unfortunately the officials who looks at the passport applications submitted via NCS wasn't working on the day. So they will correct and post it to us.
