Hello,
I would like to apply citizenship for my wife. Not sure about her ESOL certificates are acceptable or not for "English language qualifications". She has following ESOL certificares:

- Cambridge ESOL Entry level certificate in ESOL Skills for Life (Entry 1) - passed in March 2007
- Cambridge ESOL Entry level certificate in ESOL Skills for Life (Speaking and listening) (Entry 2) - passed in June 2007
- CERTIFICATE OF UNIT CREDIT TOWARDS Entry Level Certificate in ESOL skills for list (Entry 3) by City & Guilds - Passed in Sept 2008 --> Speaking and Listening Entry 3
- CERTIFICATE OF UNIT CREDIT TOWARDS Level 1 Certificate in ESOL skills for list by City & Guilds - Passed in Sept 2008 --> Reading and Writing Level 1

She did these course in 2007 - 08, are they still valid if the accept them.

She does have a B.Com degree but in her local language so only way is ESOL. Please reply

Regards,
Naveen

Naturalisation - English language

Post by konda.manasa » Wed Mar 09, 2016 9:18 pm

Hi,

I got my ILR ( Indefinite leave to remain ) on 15th May 2014. I would like to apply for Naturalization now as I met the eligible criteria.

Before my ILR, back in 2011 and 2013, I have applied for Tier1 VISA and it`s extension in the respective years. On both occasions, I have proved my English Language requirement where I scored 10 points through point based calculator as my masters degree and university was awarded in the PBS system.

Now I am applying for Naturalization and need your confirmation to fill Form AN application.

In Form AN application, Can I select the option "I met the knowledge of language and life requirement to qualify for settlement on or after 28th October 2013" ?

or

Should I submit the Point Based Calculator print out ( under tier 2 skilled/general ) which shows my masters degree and university awarded as 10 points.

Appreciate your help on this.

Looking for your reply.

in my NCS appointment i have been told by NCS personnel that i need to choose:

"I met the knowledge of language and life requirement to qualify for settlement on or after 28th October 2013"

As I met all the requirements in previous tier 1, ilr application. although i took all the english requirement proof to the appointment he just mentioned to click that option as its already been proved.

But saying that i am still waiting for my application outcome

might be the caseworker will require additional proofs, not sure.. then if reqd. i need to forward

moderators will be having a diff opinion on which option to choose as they are more experienced. i would say wait n see what others reply to your query

cheers
