Hi Zinao

I 've contacted home office about my application status. 2 min after I've received automated email in my junk folder from home office stating it can take up to 8 weeks for them to acknowledge up. I've done a biggest mistake by applying via NCS. Applicant applied in December and he got his approval on 24th January as he applied via new online system.

Nothing more we can do except wait till 8 weeks.

Will receipt of my application be acknowledged?

If you have made your application using our ‘On line’ system, you will receive an acknowledgement on line and you will not receive an acknowledgement through the post. If you sent your application by post or via the Nationality Checking Service, you should receive a written acknowledgement that your application has been received, within eight weeks. You are advised to send your application by Royal Mail Recorded/Special delivery and this will enable you to track the delivery of your package via the Royal mail website.

If you have not received an acknowledgement within eight weeks please email us at: FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk giving your full name, date of birth, address and previous Home Office reference number if known.

Hi

I called yesterday and the lady said that if payment had not been taken by next Monday that I should call back. Right now I am less interested in acknowledgement but more concerned about the security of my documents. Is my application missing or not?

For what purpose would you use a solicitor when it's a very simple form to fill out.

Also why would you not fill it out online and pay online..
Some people feel comfortable sending an application that could cost them significant amount of money & could be rejected for 10 years, if things isn't done properly. there's nothing wrong with that. we all need solicitor if we're unsure about something.

This forum has been created to guild those that are lost and need some sense of peace when dealing with there current situation or nationalization application. I would encourage you to be fruitful when making comments on another persons situation.

As we may all know, making an application online is fast and simple & takes under 8 weeks to receive your approval, if your application was done with care and no mistakes.

Hi Zinao

I am sorry to hear about that email. I am so concerned with my application also. Home office are pathetic and lazy with their job role.

Now my four weeks are nearly finishing on Wednesday. They still haven't taken payment. I can't believe how irresponsible they are with applications. How can they email you saying they don't have any database on system which is ridiculous.

I am keep on checking my emails but no email or post so far.

@Jessica have you heard anything?
Hi,

this is currently happening with me right now. Its really annoying.

here's my solution to this. they say you'll receive a letter within 4 weeks right?

i think the best thing to do is write to them stating asking to send back your application and you would like to complete this online due to the faster processing.

they have no way of rejecting your application if the issue lies with them not you.

Pls, could you inform me if your payment has been taken from your accounts?
I'm just asking because everyone here submitted after me by paper application
It's going to three weeks. I need to keep abreast of this.
This is the home office and I just hope that my documents have not gone missing. :( :(
I Know how you're feeling right now. i'm on that same boat. i think we all have to be as patient as we can. if it go's past four weeks and you still haven't hear from HO, then i suggest you write to them.

the best thing to do is put it off your mind for a few weeks and focus on other stuff you'd like to have or do, that way your mind is not worrying about it. it will happen it just takes time, and you have to understand its Jan, they would have a massive Backlog of Applications. All the best all !! :)

Dear all

I think they have lost my application. I received an email from UKVI and they told me it is not on the system.
I gave them the tracking number. My whole life is in that application, 3 passports, life in the UK, masters certificate, biometric card etc, drivers licence.
Pathetic.
This doesn't mean they've lost your application. it may just mean that no one has inputted your details onto their system.

Hi Zinao.

I've applied my application via ncs on 28th December. So literally took month for them to deduct.

Email address : nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

I never received email status of my application but I've received automated response from home office saying

You are lucky to use NCS. At least you did not have to send your identification over.
Well, I was using the second email. That notification never came up.
I will be patient until Friday

Pls, can others here tell us if they have taken payment?

That is good news so far, hope everything go well and you get naturalised. Ho received my application on the 15th of Jan, I think I still have some time to wait until they deduct their fees. May I ask, when did they receive your application? And I did mine through post.

They've received my application on 2nd January.

Good luck Youngobi. You will hear from them soon. I was paranoid also but home office taking longer with postal application than online. I read a thread of non eea nationion got his approval in 3 weeks via new online system.

Yeah, online is much faster because everything is already on their database. As for postal applications, a case worker has to input the details.

My son applied via postal application on the 5th of January and tracked on Royal mail as received at Liverpool

He is yet to receive any acknowledgement or fee deduction.

Give it another few days, if the fees has not been deducted yet, contact them.

At the moment, it's looking like it's taking up to a month for paper applications to be opened and inputed. I wouldn't worry until mid-Feb.

If you have any other family members that might need to apply for naturalisation in the future, consider using the online application.
