I am one of those applicants from October yet to receive the approval. I am anxiously waiting as I am planning to move to the Netherlands soon and the BC will make things easier for me. I share others frustrations at UKBA's lack of response. Now, they don't even speak to you even if your application is more than 6 months old. They just have two different email addresses for less/more than 6 months.
I received the approval today, yay! They sent it to the wrong council. Instead of sending it to my local council, they sent it to the one I applied through.

Thanks buddy... Although the wait is driving me nuts, I get comfort in that I am not the only one waiting, I know few guys have been waiting since September and August like Malik and Roney. Not to mention the others waiting for much longer like poor BlackHole and RonK.

If I don't get mine by the end of this months, I am going to try and forget about it until the six months mark to start chasing because I haven't seen anyone getting their approval between 4 and 6 months. Looks like once you cross the 4 months mark, you get into the 5% of those taking more than 6 months like Malik said :(

A perfect example of the counter-productivity of contacting UKBA when they advise you not to contact them before 6 months has passed - hell, they've even stopped answering phone lines to save time talking to those who will not listen.

Now, a number of workers would have been involved to look into your request, re-print previous correspondence to you and frank and re-send info you ALREADY HAVE.

These UKBA staff are clearly taking the p*** towards you now and possibly have conveniently forgot your application in a temporary place reserved to handle such people that disrespect the process and can't wait for 6 months before contacting them.

Good work. Why not send them another 4 emails.

Please show me where I am laughing. My advice is quite practical if you wish to review all other postings to this forum.

Again, bothering UKBA before the time they advise you is definitely counter-productive. Trust me.

Rob buddy… although I am a very practical person and I see where you are coming from, I must admit that I agree with chicona on this one!

Your remark:

Can be seen as a little intimidating or sarcastic at best. I go out every day after work to enjoy myself and forget about my application, and although I never emailed the UKBA because I thought if they don’t respond, it will only add to my frustration. When you read posts about people emailing the UKBA only 4 or 5 weeks into their application and not only do they get a response, but also get a meaningful update, I can fully understand why chicona and manhuwa tried to email the UKBA.

My application is far from the top of my priorities now, however I still come here at night and sometimes at work when I have a moment to see how people are getting on. You still come here because you find it entertaining, it helps you pass time or you have your own reasons for having an interest in how the UKBA is processing applications even after you have your naturalisation certificate!

I am by no means launching an attack here, I am just saying, you could, at times, be a little more subtle!!

nice!! very eloquent.
I pretty much thought that kind of personal abuse would be banned from a forum such as this?

I trust he will be banned if he carries on with this attitude/language. There is a big difference between practical advice and bullying.

Now that he sees himself, as a naturalised UK citizen, in a different class to other visitors of this forum. And the fact that reading other people's experiences seems to cause him significant distress, I suspect he will either tone down and show people the professionalism and respect they deserve, or save himself the embarrassment and stop coming here!

Tmrw will be four months waiting. Incredible to think i paid almost £2000 for this service with my family and you wait 4 months no decision. Others wait 2 weeks...Surely applications must be dealt on a first come first served basis

Yep. I go into my 4th month of waiting next week too.

I think us going into the 6+ month waiting pile is a distinct possibility now unfortunately!!

If the fees were closer to the £100 mark, I would have lodged another application now, lots of fresh applications are processed in the space of 2 weeks these days

Hang on in there folks, I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of use waiting for 4+ months. UKBA receives almost 10'000 on average every month when only a handful of those post their timelines on this forum.

Almost 4 months

Nope. The only thing I had through the post today is some useless junk mail. Considering this month is 28 days only, I will be firmly placed over the 4 months mark this time next week. However seeing the glass half full, I will only be 2 months away from the 6 months mark!!

On a positive note though, I am organising a pizza feast for the folks at work this week. So, whether I am a UK citizen or otherwise, I shall, be having Pizza Hut
