Latest Update:
-----------------

Eligibility criteria: 3 year spouse of BC
Method of application: NCS
Date of Application: 17/10/2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 18/10/2013
Date of debit of fees: 13/11/2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 16/11/2013
Date of receipt of approval: 04/01/2014
Date of approval: 20/12/2013
Date of Ceremony: TBC

Sent email to Home Office twice dated 17th December and 24th December and both the time the reply was there was no decision made yet. The surprising info is the decision had been made on 20th December - So, the Nationality HelpDesk is useless, in other words they don't provide correct information.

All the best to all fellow followers who are waiting for their approvals!

Hi Everyone.

I applied for naturalization on the 21 Oct through NCS and the application fee was taken on the 22 Nov. I phoned Home Office this afternoon to check the progress, and they person on the phone told me I will be contacted by Home Office shortly.
I tried to ask him what that means, however, he wouldn't explain further.

Could anyone tell me does this mean I will get the decision letter shortly, or it could be something else?

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
I applied on 30/10. still waiting for Fees detecting and thinking approval is too far now. any one who applied on 30/10 or after have fees detected from their account.
''ITS.RUDI'' if the Nationality HelpDesk dont know about our applications then no point to contact them just wait and wait.
''Williamme'' Call them tomorrow. defiantly you will get new answer.

Hi Williamme, I have exactly the same time line as you and I have still not got a response from the HO either. What number did you call the home office on. and was there an option e.g option 2, to speak to Nationality team etc?

Applied via NCS on 24 Oct 13
Fees deducted 27 Dec 13

There really isn't any point in people contacting the HO to chase things when it has only been a few months. There was obviously a huge backlog of applications submitted before the change in rules hence things will move more slowly.

Chasing when its clear you aren't any different to other people just causes more work for the helpline staff who won't be able to tell you anything useful. And less helpline staff would mean more caseworkers could be hired who actually do the work.

Hear, hear!
A major reason various people are collating results in this forum is to give posters a picture of whether their situation is normal. If you can see that other people who applied some time after you have gotten approval, or if you have some very urgent reason (e.g. employment/essential travel) then by all means contact the helpline, but if you can clearly see from this forum that the HO is not up to the date that you applied and you do not have a critically urgent reason for needing a decision, then please do not waste the time that the HO could otherwise be spending on working on applications. It's part of being considerate of others who are also waiting.

Agree, also it's clear from many examples that Call Center/Helpline does not have *live* data about status of application, so their advice is not really *latest. I personally think that data in helpline system gets updated say once a month/fortnight.. so no point in bugging them..

In fact, the way people sharing their timeline, we are indeed getting quite good picture of Nationality dept's work. I'd say keep timelines in this forum updated as soon as you have your own update (like balance dropped/letter received etc) & that will help others.

Latest fee deduction table for October:

The percentage value represents the number of people who've informed us they've had their fees deducted as a proportion of the total number of people who've informed us of their applications. The percent includes people who've since also had their case decided.

Note that the date or date range refers to when we believe that the HO received the application, not the date it was sent.

Week ending Oct 5th = 100%
Week ending Oct 12th = 100%
Week ending Oct 19th = 96%
Oct 21st = 90%
Oct 22nd = 89%
Oct 23rd = 93%
Oct 24th = 89%
Oct 25th = 76%
Oct 26th = 50%
Week ending Oct 26th = 85%
Oct 28th = 0%
Oct 29th = 25%
Oct 30th-Nov 2nd = 0%
Week ending Nov 2nd = 7%

This is being maintained here.

My wife AN and child MN! too applied on 21st October (self post) and letter received by HO on 22nd October but so far no approval yet. Money debited on 24th November n acknowledgement letter received on 26th November (dated 24th Nov). I have not phoned HO yet and this waiting time is excruciating!

Hi Pollandcalling1, there quite a few of us with similar time lines to your's that have not received any decisions on our applications yet.
I believe it is something to do with the increase in applications backlog, due to change in rules in the later part of October 2013.

Bugger real nervous this morning

I submitted my application by post along with a special delivery envelop for return of documents.

Just checked Royal Mail Track and trace and it says it was collected yesterday evening from the Warrington Office and is now at my Local post office

Very nervous

Hi there to all of u who is following the progress if their applications. I have been watching this spot for a while now and decided to post my timeline though no fee has been taken yet. I guess I am one of the unfortunate ones lol. So there it isWife's Application

Date of applying 25/10/13 postal special delivery.
Eligibility: Spouse of BC + 1 years ILR
Date of recieving by HO : 26/10/2013
Acknowledgement: None
Date of debit fees : still waiting
Date of naturalisation: Awaited
Date of Ceremony: Awaited
All the efforts to contact HO ended up in them telling u it might be still queuing up and asking me to wait for further 3!! Weeks for the payment to be taken. Now seeing here someone with the exact timeline getting their fee deducted makes me even more nervous as nobody can even confirm they got my original documents. The wait is killing me. What if they lost my documents?

Here is my situation:

Eligibility: Form UKM (Citizenship through heritage; Mother is UK citizen)
Method of application: Reading NCS
Date of Application: 8/10/13
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 18/10/13 -- This was via e-mail. Looks like most get their via post, but I live in Germany.
Date of debit: 17/10/13
Date of receipt of approval: Waiting
Date of ceremony: TBD

I have seen almost no Form UKM's on this board, so have no idea if it will take longer than necessary. It's a very simple application, so shouldn't take long, but we'll see.......

Today will remain as one of the most happy days in my life, getting home from work, i found the mighty brown envelope. Was probably delivered sometime today. With shaking hands, i open it up and read the big title on it: CITIZENSHIP INVITATION APPLICATION FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP BY...followed by my name and details. The long, long wait has come to an end, all the fears and checking the post daily has finished now. A few more minor steps to get the passport, but should be a walk in the park compared to what i've been through till now...and to think that in exactly 8 days would have been 3 months that my application was sent, my hope was indeed low. But, as they say "good things come to those who wait".Indeed my wait was well worth it!And to all the rest of us that are here on this forum, waiting or not for that good news, i say this: don't loose your hope, you will get what you want in the end, sooner or maybe a bit later for some, BUT IT WILL COME FOR ALL OF US! Good luck everyone, a big thank you for being a real support to me and others on those long and lonely days of waiting.Hope to hear soon that all of us got their approvals!
A good evening to immigrationboards and all the best!

First of all I want to thank the Lord for making this dream true! This means a lot to my wife who always needed a visa to go anywhere but no more visas, long queues anymore!
I also want to say a big thank you to all the members on this forum for their contributions specially to the gurus Amber and Jambo.
As my wife's case was a bit difficult and we did not know which way to go, Jambo gave us all the advice we needed, which we followed to the letter and voila! both applications successful.
Jambo we are all sending you a big hug and a warm handshake. May God bless you and for those who are waiting I wish you the best of luck.
