Yes, you are right. But I hope as soon as they take the fee start working on the case too. Not like their passport staff. They took the fee after 2 days but the passport was ready 11 weeks later...

Just a question. Why do you use nsc for £60 when you can do it yourself?

I used NCS instead of the postal application because I value highly having my passport to hand. There have been cases, very small in number mind you, but there are cases of passports being lost in the mail during this process and as there are no facilities for me to get my current passport in the UK it would be really inconvenient for me to lose mine. I would cost me way more than £60 for the replacement passport and I like the freedom to travel whilst I wait so it's well worth it to me.

Mostly to be able to keep all my documents! But they did find a few mistakes in my application so it was actually handy having them go through it.

It cost £75 though.

I agree it is worth spending the £75 as you keep the originals apart from LIUK test. It is very frustrating that we work hard, pay our taxes then high fees for any visa/ilr/citizenship application and still we get this kind of service where everyone tries to pass the buck.

In my case I am still waiting for an acknowledgement or payment being taken. Moreover I am quite stressed as I applied through NCS and as I paid them £75 fee, they sent my app by special delivery. I applied on 10/10/2014(Friday) and they said it will be sent on 13th (Monday) so hopefully delivered on 14th (Tuesday).

On royal mail website it keeps saying "progressing through our network". I called Royal mail who said if it stays like that for 14 days then we will consider it lost. I spoke to council and they said they contacted HO and checked they have not received it so I can re-apply again for free. To which I asked them what about LIUK test certificate as original one was sent in the app and now I don't have it. HO won't accept photocopy, get the references again. Also, if HO receives 2 apps would that mean I will be charged £906 twice?

Then I decided to call HO and got through to a very helpful lady and explained the situation, she took my Special delivery ref no. and confirmed the parcel has been received on 14/10/2014, she took my name/DOB/Nationality to check if my app is scanned on the system and said she couldnt find any details as it can take 2 weeks for app to be scanned on the system from when it is received. I double checked with her and she said that ref no. parcel was defo received on 14th.

I spoke to council again who said they got different info but they hope the info I got is right.
