Passport collection. Non-secure delivery time

Hello,

I have two questions:

1) If anybody decided not to use “secure delivery £5 service”. How long did it take for the passport to be delivered after it was printer? On the timeline thread looks like after passport printed it gets delivered next day, but it is unclear whether they used a £5 service or not?

2) If anybody got experience of going in person to the passport office to collect it right after you get a message that it was “printed”? My application in Peterborough and I am in London, it would not be a problem to travel 2 hours as I need to travel abroad soon and it is very important to get passport in time.
