Questions on British Citizenship Referees and Previous Immigration application

Post by Jay07 » Thu Mar 02, 2023 3:00 am

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can share their knowledge and experience regarding this information...

1. Two referees:
I was able to get 2 professionals and both are british citizen. My issue is about the last question on the form regarding "how does the referee know the applicant" can a friend or a neighbour be acceptable? One of them is my spouse's friend.. an acquaintance of mine as my answer. The second one was my neighbour back in my country, she knew me since I was little, I answered neighbour back home. Hope someone can shed light on this before submitting my application.

2. Previous Immigration application:
Shall I include all UK visas I applied for? Even before my "Leave to Enter" application, I have had 6 UK visit visas, do I have to include them all? I still have some records of a few with Reference, dates of application and Biometrics, but some I can't remember them at all. What should I do? Would appreciate all the help I could get.

Thank you so much

Kind Regards,

Jay

Just provide details of "leave" applications, not visitor visas.

Thank you so much

@alterhase58

Thank you so much for this, I read from one of the immigration lawyer's website that a friend nor a neighbour can't be a referee that's why I wanna ask it and clear it here for ones as many may have put friends or neighbours as their referees, am I right?

Regards,

Jay

Stop reading nonsense information on other websites and follow the UKVI form AN guidance notes.

Hi CR001 thank you.

Duly noted, nice to hear from you again. So I can just answer:

1. friend or aquaintance on my referee 1
2. neighbour back home on my referee 2

with the other question, just the 3 recent "past immigration application" will be more than enough namely:
Leave to Enter, FLR (M) and ILR applications, the rest of my 6 other visas in the past are irrelevant.

Thank you.

Regarding your referees I confirm what I said earlier, yes friends/neighbours are acceptable.
And you have the details of your prior leave applications (visit visas no necessary).

Dear @alterhase58,

Thank you so much for clearing them queries, really appreciate your time and sharing your knowledge. This means a lot. That's what I did just now, edited my online application as per the information you shared. I really can't thank you enough.

Kind Regards,

Jay
