Yes its only once a month here in the north east. So if i dont get it before 11th May then I'll have to wait untill mid June for a public ceremony.

London has nearly one thirds of the migrants, hence may have more ceremonies in a month.
Most councils however have 1-2 ceremonies public per month, a private once may cost between £60-100.

Yes its got to be a private ceremony as Avis only got his approval yesterday.

There is a ceremony at the council where I live on the 11th of May, but I dont think I'll get my approval before that and then I'll have to wait until the second week of June. I am not really planning to spend another 100 quids for a private ceremony, but I might in case I have to wait a full month for the next public ceremony.
Correct.. I had a private ceremony.
I called yesterday and was told I can get the free group ceremony in June.
I asked for a private and I could get it done the next day for £100.
So I took it.

Whether its worth is upto each individual... I thought it was ok to end the wait paying £100 after having spent nearly £2000 on this process so far.

If it was of any consolation, the person doing the ceremony was a bit apologetic about charging the £100 for a simple ceremony which just took 15mins - asked me to repeat the pledge and put a date on certificate.

Oh well.. naturalisation is done now.

Applied for the passport online today. Getting to the end of the tunnel :)

Hi Goody, what type of details did they ask you to check? Were these regarding address or something? Did they ask for any further information?

Hi Tintin, my son's name spills little bit differnt from mine ( one letter is written E instead of I) and they wanted to double check if this is ok and they told me that it would be written as on the passport if the application would be successfull, I think they are very busy with alot of application recieved in april ansd late March, lets hope we will hear good news within the coming two weeks

goody09,
That's a good sign that they take care of the spelling.
In the past, my residence cards always had spelling mistakes - it was always so annoying - thank God my Naturalization certificate was correct.
I got the impression that they take more care in the Nationality Directorate.

The number is correct. As soon as call is connected, press 2 and 2 again. The best time to ring is before 12:30. Lines are usually less busy.
