I agree with ferrarilondon. it is quite distressing, especially when you call them and they give the vague information and only say its still going through checks, not something you like to hear after waiting for almost 9 weeks. I submitted on the 17th March reached HO on 22nd and Money got deducted on the 27th March
ho should give a clear timeline for each applicant, as we are paying them for the service! and we are also paying our tax as part of their salaries.

i am still waiting too, farrarlondon let's wait for the good news

got ILR after 5 years of being on work permit + tier 1 on august 5 2010. basically approx 1 month less than 5 years.

question: am i eligible to apply for naturalization on september 2nd 2011 or august 6th 2011?

also, is it legal/alright to travel a few days (1 month) after application until i have received approval. i will apply through NCS, so will have my passport with me.

You are eligible from August 6th. You need complete 5years in UK with 1 year no restriction on your passport. I hope this helps.

My experience

NCS or Postal: posted on 28/03/11
Received by them: 29/03/11 (royal mail tracking)
CRITERIA: 5 yr stay (4 + 1 yr ILR)
Date of debit of debit/credit card = 07/04/11
Date on acknowledgement letter = 07/04/11
Date of receipt of approval=
Date of receipt of invitations =
Date of Ceremony late November=
Date of appln. for passport =
Method used =
Date of Receipt =

I am going out of the Uk, last week of June. I rang home office today. Was told application registered on 29/03/11 but not been allocated to case worker, everything is going on time and will be dealt with within 6 months(ha ha, familiar!)
When asked about passports, a request has been put up for them to be returned in 10 working days. Told this won't usually delay the process unless case worker wants to see the passports for some reason.

Ferrarilondon, I know the feeling. however, it is a lot better and less hurting because you have a pre-conceived idea of what the answer woud be rather being told by the HO that it is not yet allocated to the caseworker and is still undergoing the preliminary checks

Probably means theyre done with the docs or they were not required.
btw, what are these docs as you do not need to send any except LIUK results and passport!!

The docs were my passport, marriage certificate & partner's birth certificate - applied as partner of british citizen. The only document they did not send back was the life in the UK pass certificate. The letter also stated that they wanted be to check on the attached page that my name, dob and nationality are correct as if I am approved the certificate will show those details.
