I Spoke to HO yesterday , it was waiting for allocation. I will try again in 2 weeks time. HO works so strangely. No one can predict what they are going to do in terms of sending post etc. Which council you live in

I believe the only time they contact them is if its a really complicated case / application where there is alot of doubt on the applicant then yes they prob would...but generally no i don't think they do if the case is straight forward and there is'nt alot in the applicants past to doubt the application

Another quick update for you all.

CRITERIA - 4 years plus 1 year ILR
Type - NCS (Camden)
Date of submission - 24 March 2011
Date reached HO - 25 March 2011
Date of debit of credit card - 01 April 2011
Date of receipt of acknowledgement - 14 April (dated 1 April)

<<called on 20 April - awaiting allocation to case worker>>>

<<called yesterday and they said it had been allocated to case worker team>>

Date of receipt of approval -
Date of receipt of invitation letter from council -
Date of Ceremony -
Date of appln. for passport -
Method used -
Date of Receipt of documents -
Date of interview -
Date passport received -

I called them on 20 April and they said it was awaiting allocation to a case worker.

After lurking on the forums so much, I couldnt stop myself from calling them for an update yesterday.

The gentleman said it had been allocated to a case working team, but not to an actual case worker (which I've not seen before).

Progress at the very least.

On a side note, it's so good to see I am not the only one suffering with the wait. My friends tell me I need to relax, but I don't think they understand the "pain and suffering" that we all endured to get to this point, so thanks to you all for keeping me sane.

I really hope to see more good news stories posted on here in good time, and hope everyone finds fun stuff to keep themselves occupied with for the time being.

I called them today, if anything out of boredom, which is bad i know....but i realized they log the calls as the man was really rude and he was like well you rang this date and since it's still the same and its a waste of time if you keep calling. Sounded like he's had enough over there.

yes they do keep record of calling, It might be the same man who told me about few weeks ago the same thing. So give it couple of weeks break before you call them again

Just to let you know (and so that you get a bit of a relief ;) I got my acknolwedgment on 16th March - since then I am waiting too!

We applied through the NCS. Its been two months now and I have been told to wait for three months!

@kiran234 - when i applied through teh council i was told the council would not be able to give any updates! has anyone else contacted their council? specially those who submitted round about mid March date?

Also, if you didn't know this already but someone told me that because of the increase in fees by about £300 from 6 April 2011, there was a mad rush of applicants and which is why some of the applications are taking longer than usual for HO to turn around!

@ theclumsywizard, Most of us already know about this mad rush of applications due to the fees rise. Also it has not gone up £300.00 its around £ 55.00 more now. Obviously it effects those who have multi applications.
Secondly on average Ho receives 250 applications per day for Naturalisation and they have limited number of case workers.

Why there are a limited number of case workers? This is a pay service and due to increasing of fees from 6 April, they should have expected a boost of applications. Therefore, they should have an increase to number of caseworker as well, to provide high standard of service to people. (PS. If this is the reason….??)

radi8, haven't you heard job cuts in public sector. I am sure if some asks HO for information about case workers working in nationality department under the freedom of information act the reply would shock us.
