@ ferrarilondon
radi8, haven't you heard job cuts in public sector. I am sure if some asks HO for information about case workers working in nationality department under the freedom of information act the reply would shock us.
I know and understand the situation, as this has affected not just the UK, but the whole economic world. I justify the raise of fees, but I disagree with the delay. Increasing the number of case workers is just temporary (maybe 2-3 months) until they get the rhythm of work they had before 3 months. There are people outside who have a lot of problems and providing them good service matters most, while this could give them hope and increase their quality of life.
Hope this is not the case. :?:

They cant just increase number of case workers temporarily, as they increase fees twice a year, normally first around march/april and second November. So they should hire more case workers on permanent bases. But hey don't forget getting citizenship is not our right its a privelage.

Also, it's not like they are [temporary] employing people to stack shelves at local supermarket - I'd like to think that working as a case worker requires certain skills and training...

I doubt the fact that HO can’t find enough qualified case workers to employ. I have spoke at least with two workers in NCS services, in two different boroughs (who guided me about my applications), and they were very skilled and trained.

Anyway, the discussion wasn’t about the delay of application as a result of the limited numbers of qualified case workers, but about the job cuts in public sector as a cause of the delays, as ferrarilondon mentioned above.

I agree with you ,as HO is not a business company to employ people to stack shelves in supermarkets, but is a serious government department which deal with law and immigration, and respectively,it takes people’s life seriously.

Hi vinseh,

Did you approval letter also contain the ceremony invitation letter ?

I received my approval letter on 19May but it said that I have to wait for ceremony letter.

I am getting worried now...

I have a strange situation here. I applied for Naturalisation on 20th March (NCS) and after waiting a little anxiously and a lot patiently I phoned them last week and they said that a decision has been made and I should be hearing from them in the next few days.

I finally received my approval letter today but when I phoned the Council to book my ceremony they said that for some unknown reason it has been called back by the Home Office and that I need to contact them directly.

I phoned the UKBA and they said that the approval was sent out in error due to system fault and its still under consideration and there are checks being made and that they will write to me in due course...

:( any ideas what it means...???

It is a matter of concern that this topic is digressing into a chat room, rather than a topic where people can view information of value and relevant to the subject of the topic - "timeline of naturalisation application(s)".

Given that it is not feasible to prune a 350+ page topic to extract irrelevant posts, may I request that members post in the topic only if and when there is information of value and relevance (to the subject) that they wish to contribute to the topic.

Can we discuss the waiting times and status updates of the naturalisation application after submission?

May be moderators can make this post sticky.
rnr79, "this topic" was created and (still) exists for the purpose you state. Just creating a new sticky topic will not prevent it from following the same path as this topic seems to have taken. It is up to the members to ensure that their contributions in any topic remain of value and relevant to the stated subject of the topic.

My post above was for that very purpose - a gentle request to members contributing in the topic to restrict their posts to valuable and relevant information related to the subject to the topic.

I hope that the members will co-operate, but in absence, it may be decided to close this topic permanently and create a new topic to post "timelines" only.

Though off-topic but still relevant, from an administrative point of view it is difficult to monitor and prune unending topics to ensure that members do not post in contravention of the forum T&Cs. And, irrelevant posts in such lengthy topics just add to the problem.

Hi guys, I am trying to track if my application was received by HO (sent via NCS on the 11th May 2011). The royal mail tracking shows delivered to Warrington, is that where it should go?

To this date, no money has been taken out and that's a bit concerning.

Thanks

Yes thats the correct. In the recent past it has taken up to10 days for fee to be deducted and another 3-5 days for ack. letter. You should hear soon.

I agree with you sushdmehta, but could there also be a topic where discussions can take place...that will help to divert discussions away from the strictly "timeline" posts. Due to the human nature, some people will always want to discuss, so a separate post to take care of this will prune off a great deal of chats off the timeline topic..IMHO

Well I don't think that there is something wrong congratulating people who are getting their approvals and wishing good lucks to people who are waiting. That helps a lot of people to calm their nerves down whilst waiting for their approvals. Well I might be wrong if moderators think so :?
