Trips outside UK and list of employers for self employed

Post by lvp68 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 1:06 pm

Hello, I'm a EU citizen, have been living in the UK for 18 years and I'm trying to fill the form to obtain citizenship. I have all the requirements, documents etc. However I don't understand two things
1) in the past 5 years I've taken countless of weekends abroad, I traveled to Europe on business trips at least once every two months and I don't have records of all my trips, I have records of some but not all, as I've deleted confirmation emails from Easyjet... Is it a problem? As a EU citizen nobody stamps my passport unless I travel outside Europe so if I don't list ALL of my EU trips on the form is it a problem? My total days abroad each year are about 40 anyway
2) I'm self employed and work for hundreds of clients every year. When they ask to list names and addresses of all your employers in the past five years, what am I supposed to do? I also have some agencies that get me work, and have done so for years. Do I just list them? Of course I can provide tax returns and even a declaration from my accountant if necessary but I'm not sure what to actually write on the form

Thanks!

1. You need to provide all travels, could be a problem if can't prove but I wasn't from EU so cannot be sure.

2. You are self employed so all you need to show your own tax returns etc showing your economic activity.

EU route folks can tell you better.
Being British is a state of mind.

EU citizens don't need stamps or VISA to travel outside the UK so how can we provide record of trips unless we kept all the cards we were given in the last five years (and who does that, honestly)? I only decided to apply for citizenship two months ago, I had no idea until then that I might need proof of my travelling, freedom of movement being one of the main principles of the EU... I've been abroad at least once if not twice a month in the past 5 years, I can probably track down my last 15 flights because having bought tickets online they're still in my emails, but nothing older than that. I wonder, If my passport doesn't get stamped how can the UK gov verify whether I've listed them all anyway? Is there any association providing simple info like this, or do I need to pay an immigration lawyer £700 just to ask basic stuff? I filled the form no problem, it's just small details like this that I don't get
Thanks for anyone's help
