hi hope someone can answer this one. I am British and so are my 2 kids, my wife is however Indian with ILR , we want to go on a 3 day trip to France. does she need to get a visa? and if so what type of visa? and is it free? i remember something about a family permit a long while ago is this whats needed? and is it still free?

She does need a visa in general. http://eumovement.wordpress.com/2007/04 ... u-citizen/ You can get a French visa via the post at no cost if she is traveling with you.

The "Family Permit" is the UK name for the visa the UK would issue if you were from another EU member state and you wanted to bring your wife to the UK for a visit.
