BRP dates

Hi all, having a massive panic attack here...

I just realised there may be a mistake in my BRP dates.

First Tier 2: issued 24/08/16.

Change of sponsor via same-day service: 16/08/17

Current dates on BRP: 16/08/17 until 24/08/22.

Obviously this is a total of 6 years exactly, but the new BRP is 8 days over 5 years. Is this correct? I am worried as one can only have a Tier 2 for 5 years at a time (not counting extensions...)

The COS was under 5 years: 04/09/27 to 23/08/22.

Please advise... I don't want this to mess my ILR chances...

This is correct. The extension cannot be over 5 years as well. And total is maximum 6 years. You are exactly granted the max stay possible.

Obviously 04/09/27 should have been 04/09/17.

So although the COS for the extension was under 5 years, the BRP dates are over 5 years, but I saw the following in the rules, which explains my scenario:

(c) In addition to the period in (a), leave to remain will be granted for the period between the date that the application is decided and the date that the Certificate of Sponsorship Checking Service records as the start date of employment in the UK, provided this is not a negative value.

Just trying to get clarification still, re former employer's absence letter...

I have a few versions now but still not sure if they are correct.

The hardcopy letterhead (a Russel Group University) doesn't have contact details. Is this likely to cause a problem (the contact details are easily found in Google)? The letterhead only states University of X, and then my former line manager's name, department and signature.

Secondly, one absence was a paid work from home bereveament trip. The University's standard ILR absence document only has "Work related absences" and "Annual leave" sections, so we added that absence under Work related leave. The explanation is "paid and authorised absence due to family bereavement". Does this sound ok?
