UK BRP Expiry in Dec 31, 2024 and Schengen visa application for trip in Oct 2024

I currently hold a Skilled Worker Visa valid until March 2027. However, my Biometric Residence Permit (Physical BRP) is set to expire on December 31, 2024, due to the UK Government's decision to discontinue issuing physical BRPs.

In the Schengen visa application, there is a requirement to enter the Resident Permit validity date. Could you please advise me on which date I should input in this field?

@basilbaby please, don't piggy back on others' posts.

I'm not sure about the right answer - I'd either err on the side of caution and put a BRP date (as they'll want to see it during appointment) or print out UKVI announcement and the letter granting status with you.

Send an email to TLS/consulate and ask them?

In the Schengen visa application, there is a requirement to enter the Resident Permit validity date. Could you please advise me on which date I should input in this field? My trip is in Oct 2024 and Schengen visa has a requirement of a minimum of 3 months remaining for BRP, So if I put Dec 2024 as expiry there are high chance that mine will get rejected although I originally had permission to stay until March 2027.

If you plan to travel in October, why not wait till around June/July. By then it would be clearer in what direction the government is going towards. At this juncture, you guess is as good as anyone else.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
