hi everybody.Very useful and helpful forum. i have got a question. i was travelling on the bus one day and oyster reader was not working on the bus and the inspector gave me a fine. i completly forgot about it after couple of month i have been called to go to court. i paid fine and other costs too.

my question is can i apply for naturelisation? is this a criminal record?

Yes. It appears that you have a criminal conviction since you didn't pay your original fine and had to be referred to and convicted in court. You have to declare this conviction if you apply for naturalization and you stand a risk of being turned down (and losing your application fee).
It is a minor offence though and with the help of an advisor or lawer you might increase the chance of succeeding if you decide to apply for naturalization.
