Calculating days abroad in Online EA naturalisation application

Im doing the online AN Naturalisation App and am wondering if the online system automatically deducts dates of departure from / return to the UK.

I found this in the .GOV website:

You must only count whole days' absences from the UK. You must not count the dates of departure and arrival as absences. For example, a person who left the UK on 22 September and returned on 23 September will not be classed as having been absent from the UK.

The online form has different guidance:
You do not need to tell us about trips of 2 days or less. For example, if you leave on Monday and return on Tuesday, this does not count as an absence.

So if I:
- leave September 1 2024
- and return September 7 2024,
do I put these dates in the online form? If yes, does the system autmatically deduct the departure and return days, as they are not whole day absences?

The system doesn't adjust for the leave/return dates.
You'll have to do it manually, when inputting.

This will be 5 days. You will see the total absence days in the end. I have a saved naturalisation application, see how it looks like when you fill the dates in. I.e left on 16/12/2022 and returned on 18/12/2022 - it counts as 1 day.
