Can I apply for ILR NOW ?????

Post by qaws_14 » Sun Jan 15, 2012 12:01 am

Dear All

I was on Work Permit from February 2007 and stayed with the same employer till the company closed down in September 2011. I was jobless from October 2011. Now I have found a new job and got the Tier 2 visa of which I have received the approval letter and the passport and BRP is not yet received. In next week I will recieve those. I applied for Tier 2 within 60 days of being jobless.

My question is that when can I apply for the ILR. The question I am asking is because of the break in my work. For ILR 1 salary slip required. So if I start my job from somewhere aroung 20 or 21 January then I will get the proportionate salary and salary slip. So should I apply in February with January salary slip or should I apply in march with february's salary slip.

Please guide me as soon as possible.

IMHO, I think you should be okay, the only thing I would suggest would be that you should have at least 3 months salary slip and a letter as per the requirements here. (of course all other usual evidence as per the guidance is required)
