Can disabled do masters in uk?

Post by anivijay » Mon Jul 27, 2020 11:37 am

My sister is disabled(deaf). She has completed B.Tech computer science in india and working. Now my parents passed away and she is alone in India. I want to bring her to UK.

Can she study Masters in UK universities?

What are requirements?

Does she need to write Ielts? Her medium of instruction was English in graduation.

Can we get any sponsorship? If not I am able to pay the fees.

Is there any other feasible or cost effective way to bring her here like tier 2?

I am on tier 2 Visa and 1 year to get ILR.

Thanks

Her deafness would have no bearing on these matters. The academic and visa requirements are the same as for any student.

Not from within the UK, unless it is a scholarship of some kind.

That would depend on her being offered a job at the required skill and salary level.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

When it comes to disabilities, the UK very "equal opportunity". Her disability won't affect her application or admission process.

However, to get a Tier 4, she needs to show that she has the money to study and the university is paid. You can't escape this.

Thanks for the reply Zerubabel.

Tuition fee is not an issue. I can pay.

One more question.

Would her disability become an issue while applying for work visa? Is there any rule that prevents her from getting work visa?

Thanks

Same applies for Tier 2 or any other visa: her disability is not a concern as long as she finds an employer willing to sponsor her.
