can passport be renewed whilst at home office

Hello,

My friend's passport got expired and visa status is in JR. there is no travel document with her.

She is from Pakistan and it is been over a year since the passport is expired. Can she renew the passport and what would be the procedure?

could any one please advise?

y wuld u need a passport whn u can't travel or not intended to travel.
Embassy won't let her issue a new passport until she has a valid visa.Its better to wait for JR outcome.
U can always refer to embassy's official website for more info.

The Pakistani Embassy is less than fussy about having a valid visa when issueing a new passport.
She can apply, the main issue will be proving her identity sufficiently to allow the new passport to be issued.

Mr Mole is right in saying that the Pakistani embassy is not at all fussy.

however I remember in my friends case when her appeal was already in progress and she was able to produce that letter to the person at the embassy he allowed her to progress with the passport renewal.

I am not very sure about the JR but as far as their leniency goes, yes it should not be a big problem and once you convince them and get the token number and pay the bank fee there will be no questions asked later on.
