Can spouse apply for HSMP?

Hi

Iam sure someone might have asked this question in past but(being impatient by nature!) couldnt find any trace of it in the forum.

I have been here in UK from Oct 2004 seconded from an Indian IT company. My wife joined me here in Jan 2006. She had been working for 4+ years till Dec 2005 before she resigned and came here.

Now she has managed to get a permanent job with a UK based company on the dependant visa and has started working from July 2006. Queries which I had are:

1.) Can she apply for HSMP from here or if she has to apply and then re enter back from India?

2) Whether she has to complete one yr (till July 2007) from the date of this job to actually apply for HSMP and show that as work ex or can she manage with 7-8 months of salary and apply ( This is because she would be turning 28 in Aug next yr and so waiting till July next yr may be bit close)


Please advise us about these questions. I believe as everyone else any response to the mail would be much appreciated.

She can apply as a Incountry applicant (ie. from UK itself)
from Indian Salary, if she can meet the salary criteria that would suffice, no need to wait for another year.

She can apply from the UK, but she'll need to apply for entry clearance to get the visa.
