Can I submit Tier 2 visa while waiting for CofS

I have just submitted my application for my employer's Certificate of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 Skilled Worker visa.

I am running out of time as I want to be in the UK in April, so I want to file for my Skilled Worker visa using the sponsorship reference (SPXnumber), can I do this? Or should I wait for the response on the CofS application?
