Can we use savings account as maintenence fund evidence?

Post by silentray » Sun Mar 22, 2009 11:10 am

Hi,

Someone told me that we can only use current account statements as maintenence fund evidence. Because home office thinks that money in the savings account is not something "accessible".

Is this true?

Regards.

If you have a confusion on that then why not provide a letter from the bank saying that the funds held in the savings account are accessible on demand/instantaneously without any notice period.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

The reason is I have already submitted my application.

I submitted one current account and one savings account (HSBC flexible saver).

You can show the funds held in an Instant Access savings account i.e. account with no lock-in period.
In any case, if case worker has any doubt, he/she would contact the bank directly to find out, if the funds held in the account are in cash form or not, before rejecting any application.
