Can visitor visa converted into work permit within canada

Hi,can any one suggest that if i go to canada in visitor visa for training of six months and got job placement there after training, can i apply for work permit from inside canada. or do i have to leave country to apply.(if I got placement for live in care giver after training for six months.).
