Can I work in UK if I marry B/F with an Ancestry Visa?

Post by Dey » Tue Nov 21, 2006 12:58 am

My boyfriend lives in London whereas I live in Canada. I wish to go live with him in the UK and start working there. He has had an ancestry visa for three years (and needs 4 to get his permanent leave).

It is my understanding that if we get married now, I won't get the spouse Visa.

Given that I've already had the working holiday visa and I do not qualify for the HSMP, is there any other way for me to work there?

Hello,

- Correction, it now takes 5 years to get Settlement.

You can come to the UK as his dependant SPOUSE.

Regards,

Anton
