Can I work with resident permit?

Post by Rollei33 » Wed Oct 05, 2005 5:15 pm

Hello

I am new here. I am from Bargladesh. this morning, I received my passport back with stamp showing resident permit. What I understand is that resident permit is for those from Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, USA and so on. If they want to live more than 6 months, they need this permit.

I did visa extension on the ground of marriage. My wife is ELR.

My question is:
Can I work full time here?
Can someone tell me. I can't find this info on the net yet.

Thank you

What does your resident permit say? If you're allowed to work it'll say so on it.

on the stamp, there is only one sentence "not to recourse public funds". the letter shows nothing, but to read the endorsement carefully.

thanks

The "No recourse to Public Funds" restriction is quite normal. The lack of any other restriction confirms that you are able to work.
