Can You Believe This

Post by prettypolitical » Sun May 10, 2009 12:05 am

I have been informed that a friend of mine who is a UK citizen and was on job seekers allowance when her husband applied for his spouse visit has now got it!!!!!

I do not understand how they have allowed this as some of us are having to fight to prove our finances!!!!

Has anyone ever known this before????????[/b]

It's normal
The UK sponsor's benefit claim does not affect the spouse's application. Only if additional public funds have to be claimed because of the spouse's presence does it count against them.

If you search against "public funds" on the UKBA website, there's quite a good PDF which sets it all out.

Thanks!!! for your reply, I do take in to account what you are saying although my husband applied for a spouse visa at post and they refused it on my income, I work and manage to do this whilst looking after our children.
They failed to analyse the finances that i had submitted as it clearly shows that i have more than enough to support all of us.
How do they expect two people to live off job seekers allowance, its crazy!!!
Now we have to go through an appeal, it just seems like one rule for one and one rule for another, its laughable!!!!
