Do you need a visa to get married in Canada?

My fiance and I are currently living in the UK but wish to get married and live in Canada.
Is it possible for him to go to Canada without getting a visa with permission to get married?

I am a Canadian citiz. he is a UK citiz.
In March of this year he was given permission to be in the country for 9 months, we, however, came to the UK before the 9 months was up as I was granted WHM. We thought we'd live in the UK for a while but have since chosen Canada.

Can he live and work in Canada as a UK citizen?

We are trying to avoid having to get a Fiance Visa.
If we have to get one we will but is there an easier more quick option?

If we were to get married in Canada, can we do this without a visa?
I know he can apply for his Perm. Res. from IN Canada.
We think it is best if we get married in Canada and then apply for PR, if it is possible to do so without a visa.
If we need to get a visa for it then we will but if it can be avoided, we'd like to go about it that way.

I do not know if you need a visa to get married in CND or not. My mind is telling me you don't so long as you have a valid visa/passport (if a non-visa national) you should be fine. But don't quote me!!!!!!!!

Just note that, the requirements for marriage varies for a every province in CND so check which province you are visiting/going to stay and meet the requiremnts for marriage.

Your best place for info is to call the CHC in London and they will answer your question.

I believe if this issue is important to you as you have posted here, you will take sometime to google around the internet concerning marriage in CND as per non-resident applicants and you would come up with solid answers. People here are just to help and not to do all the work for you.
