What visa to sponsor my brother's wife for a visit.

Post by Dgg1 » Sun Oct 19, 2014 12:26 pm

I want to invite my brother's wife to come to Canada. Me and my wife are both PR holders and are waiting for our oath ceremony letter. We are in good standing here.

My same brother's son is also here since past 2 years on PR but not well established here. He does not meet the LICO requirements. His wife is pregnant and they need her help. He applied for his mother but got trv rejected twice because of his LICO.

Can I sponsor invite her for applying for a TRV or tourist visa?

Hello,
Yes, you could be the one inviting her to visit to Canada. Are you sure that her TRV was rejected because of your nephew? Generally, there are 5 things you need to get a TRV:
  • Proof of your ties to your home country
Proof of funds for your visit to Canada
ID such as a passport or county resident card
A letter of invitation from the person inviting you to come to Canada
Proof that you will be staying in Canada only on a temporary basis
If she has proof of funds for herself, then I don't think her son's status is of concern.
Good luck!
