Canadian moving to France.

Post by Valo.Ca » Mon Feb 13, 2006 9:34 pm

So in about 4 or 5 years time im thinkin of either moving to the UK or France, im more aiming to france. My fiance and i are wanting to move, but we are kind of confused about what we need to do. I am a certified class A mechanic for automotives and she will be graduating in about a year or so with a masters degree in sociology and criminology. So ive been readin on this website that you can get different types of visa's, but non of witch applie to the situation that me or my fiance are in. Neither of us work for a big company, nor are we planning on setting up a company. So my question is, what is really involved with gettin French citizenship for some one whos just planning on moving to a different country and getting started? We are looking into moving into an apartment near the Med, Nice, Cannes, Monico, Monte Carlo, etc.

and if it makes a diference, I am 21 and my fiance is 20.

EDIT: This move would be permanent.

We are considering the same

My wife, son (5 years old) and I are considering the same move within a year or two. I am slowly finding more information. If I find something useful, I will let you know.

From what I have found out so far, it sounds like setting up your own company would be easiest. However, there is so much conflicting information, it is hard to know!
