Canadian trying to work in Germany

Post by simonramage » Wed Aug 20, 2008 12:32 am

Hello,

I'm a Canadian citizen hoping to find work in Germany, I have a passport (Canadian) and a bachelors degree in Engineering. I'm 29 years old.
I'm new to the process of working abroad, can anyone advise me on what steps to take.... should I simply approach companies until I have a job offer, and at that time apply for a work permit? Or must I obtain some kind of permit first before even looking?

Thanks very much!

Simon

Hi Simon:

Yes, you need to try to find a way to be sponsored in Germany. Search the forum under the European immigration category and you can find out more. It's generally easiest to immigrate with a job offer.

Good luck!
