Canadian- working in Switzerland living in France w family

I am new to this and wanted to understand current details about the pros and cons of living in France versus the Canton of Geneva. What kind of visas do I need? What is better for taxation. I would be working from home but travlleing to Geneva for meetings, client work. My children are 10, 8, 7 and my husband woudl be joining me and finding work when there.
