Cash proof for EC

Hi Guys,

I have some amount of US Dollars from my previous business travels. Can I claim them as proof of funds for EC. If yes, how., if no, then, how do I show them as proof. I have around 5K USDs and its my major cash reserve for the UK trip., Please advise.
