CCJ settlement request for evidence

Hi everyone,

I need urgent help please and will appreciate this.
I applied for Naturalisation couple of months ago, received a response from the HO to send evidence of payment of debt that I declared on my application. I declared a CCJ issued to me in 2017 on a credit card. However I didnt pay this debt, I stated on the application that I couldnt afford to pay the debt in 2017 because I was out of job and was pregnant and couldn't work.
Its been over 7years now, Will I get the letter that debt is settled and send to the HO and I still need to pay this debt?

Did you receive a letter that the debt had been cleared? You need o provide that evidence.

I haven’t received any letter to say the debt has been cleared. The debt was not paid at that time.

Should I contact the court or the company I’m owing to pay the debt now?

Yes, and urgently too. Unsettled debts may be seen as an issue by the caseworker as evidenced by the fact they contacted you about it.
