Certificate of Naturalisation

Post by Winkles1000 » Thu Jul 21, 2022 10:26 am

Hi all

I have a question on my Certificate of Naturalisation as a British Citizen:

I was born in the US and, for place of birth, it states the following: Indiana,, United States of America

The state and country are correct and both are spelled correctly. And yes, the certificate has the two commas!

My questions:

1. Should this also list my city of birth? My US passport only gives the state and country, so hopefully this is fine here, too.

2. Are the two commas an issue? I'd like avoid sending this off to UKVI if at all possible, especially for something which seems trivial. I note that, in my US passport, there is no extra comma!

I should note I haven't applied for my UK passport yet.

Thanks for any advice you can provide. I appreciate these are tiny things - just don't want them to be (or become) a problem.

No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
