Certificate of nationality for child born in N.I

Post by Lucee24 » Fri Dec 20, 2024 8:24 pm

Hi everyone, i‘m a bit stuck on what to do next. I have lived legally in Belfast for the past 6 years (i‘m on the 10 year parent route and i apply for my ILR next year). My son was born May this year and i was told he can apply for an Irish passport. I‘m a non EEA citizen and so is his father. I sent supporting documents with the form C application to the department of justice and they took a week to reply and told me i have to apply directly to the irish passport office of foreign Affairs and trade but then on the online application, they ask for a certificate of nationality. Also i haven’t received my supporting documents back. Do they send them back? Please if anyone has been in my position before, help me
