Dear Sir/Madam,
If somebody could appreciate my case and give some clues, it might be great help.
The application of 'certificate of sponsorship' for me was rejected. I have awaited three months to hear this result. The reason was because I didn't possess PhD when the university applied for the certificate. In fact, I passed PhD examination with minor correction and got conditionally awarded and I was asked to correct my thesis. The university was aware of this and they said I will start from research assistant before getting a PhD and then I will progress to research associate that was the original position in the adverts, once I fully awarded. This happed to me and I have some queries;
1) Do you think this could be the reason for the rejection even if a professor wants to hire me. Or there might be other reasons which are quite critical and may happen again whatever application made for me as long as it is made in the UK, as the home office keep the record about me.
2) That has been routine for every PhD student to apply a job before actual possession of PhD, which was not applied to my case. I think I am just one and half months ahead of final award of the degree. Do you think the university could make an appeal for, for example, delaying appointment for one and half months until then I will definitely be able to sort out my degree.
3) Anyhow, I should get back to the UK to move out (I am currently in Korea but I left all my luggages in the UK, as I was supposed to come back.) and final submission for my thesis, although my student visa was expired on 31st August. In this situation, do you think I can be eligible for postgraduate visa scheme. Otherwise which way I and my dependent (my wife) could enter the UK border? For your reference, I am a South Korean for whom the border agency normally allows up to six months travel visa. Do you think I could expect one or two months allowance but the full length? I am planning to move to France, where she is studying.
Thank you for considering my case and your time.
Sincerely,
Myung
