Chances of getting sponsored?

Myself and my husband are hoping to move to australia on the 457 visa and I was wondering what our chances are.

I am about to finish a PhD in Maths and already have a degree and masters. I'm not sure if they will count me as having no work experience, really a PhD is a job? I am thinking of moving into the finance industry, will it be hard to get sponsored?

My husband is about to finish a degree in civil engineering, but he has no experience. Will any engineering companies sponsor a recent graduate?

Any advice?
