Change of Employer- will my current visa be cancelled?

Post by annesantos » Mon Jan 07, 2019 9:44 pm

Hi,

I am a nurse in the UK with a tier 2 visa. my situation are as follows;

1. I received and accepted a new job with a different hospital in the UK.

2. I already have a COS from my new employer.

3. I have already set a holiday for the whole monthe of January 2019 where I will go back to my home country, Philippines.

4. My plan is to apply for a new visa when I come back from holiday.

My question is will I be allowed to re-enter the UK with my current visa? Or will I have to acquire a new visa before I leave for my holiday( my holiday is a week’s away!) my last day for my current job is on the second week of Feb.

I am literally at wits-end! I am stressed and confused. Please, if anyone can advise. I will greatly appreciate it!

No. I believe you should apply before you depart the UK on holiday. Else, they may refuse you entry due to changes in circumstances or purpose. Moreover, applying for a visa from outside the UK may be subject to a one year cooling off period, thereby breaking your continuous period of leave.
